ASPCA

ASPCA Pet Insurance doesn’t opt for a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, it looks at creating customized coverage for your beloved pet’s needs. ASPCA makes insurance simple. They remove the technical jargon that often leaves you confused and makes all information easily understandable. It makes pet insurance easier to manage. ASPCA’s parent company was one of the first pet insurance providers in the U.S. and has decades of experience. On the ASPCA website, it has several pet parent resources for owners caring for their pets. Their resources are useful and cover a lot of ground too.

How ASPCA Works

  • Visit any emergency clinic or licensed vet when your cat or dog needs medical attention.
  • Ensure the animal is treated and pay the existing medical bills.
  • Go online or submit your claim via mail.
  • Once the claim is processed, any monies will be deposited directly into your bank account. Or, if you prefer a check, it’ll be mailed out to you.

The claim process is incredibly easy, even for new pet owners. All decisions are made fairly quickly, meaning you aren’t out-of-pocket for long. And, getting reimbursed can be quicker if you opt for a bank transfer rather than wait for a check to be delivered. The choice is yours.

What Coverage Does ASPCA Provide?

Surprisingly, you can get complete coverage for your pet. This means everyday ailments are covered, along with more complex issues. And, exam fees are eligible in your insurance plan. So, what is eligible for coverage?

  • Everyday Accidents: If your pet is hurt, any related injuries, such as bites and broken bones, are included. Hospitalization and surgery costs are also covered.
  • Serious Illnesses: If your dog or cat has digestive problems or an ear infection, they’ll be covered in the serious illness policy. Thyroid conditions and other such illnesses are covered with your insurance plans. Diagnosis costs are also included.
  • Preventive Care and Accident-Only Protection: You can add preventative care for an extra fee with your plan. And, if you don’t want complete coverage, you can opt for accident-only protection.

How to Sign Up with ASPCA Insurance?

You’ll start by requesting a free quote. This is a no-obligation quote, so if the quote isn’t what you expected, you don’t have to accept it. To get a quote, input your zip code and pet’s name. Addtionally, they need to know if your beloved pet is a cat or dog. From there, they need a few more pieces of information about your pet to give you an appropriate quote.

You then have the option of adding extra coverage if you want. After opting in or out of the extra coverage, you can complete your sign up. You’ll have to give them your full name, address, email address, and payment information. Once your policy is accepted, you can complete your sign up by creating an account with ASPCA.

Customer Service & Support

ASPCA offers customer support in the form of an email, fax, and telephone service. While there isn’t a Live Chat feature available, it does have a few good avenues to explore. What’s more, if you need to make a claim you can use ASPCA Pet Insurance’s free app. It’s nice to see more than one support method available, and you can speak to someone, even just to for just a small question, when you need to.

ASPCA’s Pros and Cons

ASPCA’s Pet Insurance does provide everyday pet owners with simple insurance plans. Unfortunately, the provider has its share of pros and cons. Those include the following:

  • Pro – Any Licensed Veterinarian Can Be Selected
  • Con – Policies Are Underwritten by Third-Parties
  • Pro – Optional Wellness or Accidental-Only Available
  • Con – Microchip Costs are Only Covered with Complete Coverage Policies
  • Pro – Provides Quality Coverage for Household Pets

ASPCA is an impressive provider, not least because of its history, but it shows its strengths perfectly. Although, deductible rates can vary depending on your specific policy and monthly premiums.

Is ASPCA the Right Pet Insurance for You?

If you want a reputable provider with a history in the pet insurance industry, this is ideal. However, as with most things in life, it has bad points as well as good points. ASPCA does provide excellent pet insurance and enables you to tailor plans to suit you and your pet’s needs. For instance, you can choose a basic plan if you want to avoid paying for services you won’t ever use or just want to keep costs down.
